Tour Itinerary.-

QORICANCHA

The Qorikancha was the religious center of Cusco, is worth saying, the center of the center, as much in the geographic aspect as in the religious and politic. From here started four of the main trails that lead to the four main parts of the Inka Universe; it was the residence of the Gods and the principal. Guaca in the Inka period.


CATHEDRAL

The Cathedral has been built in 1560. It was finish in 1668. It has amazing altars with a very renaissance style such as baroque and neoclassic. They are beautiful works of cusquenian art, its pulpit made out of wood and all carved by hand. It also has many paintings from the school of art of Cusco, paintings from the artist Diego Quispe Tito, Basilio Santa Cruz Pumacallo, Basilio Pacheco y Marco Zapata, artist that made a very peculiar painting of the last supper in with the main dish is the roasted Guinea Pig.
 

SACSAYHUAMAN

In the times of the Incas was called “sun’s house” and it was a great religious center of great importance in the local tradition, when the Spanish arrive they thought that it was a fortress because of the position and shape, it has three levels whose walls are made of rock and they are perfectly join, and this gives someone the impression of a great fortress on impenetrable access.
 

QUENQO

It was said that it was a ceremonial center and place for rituals, it has an amphitheater that has 19 windows that were used to worship, there is also maize that leads to the underground galleries, in the superior part there is canals and carved shapes.
 

PUCAPUCARA

Pucapucara means red fortress, about this word is because the location of the group and the existence of some semi-circular environment, about the red is because the color of the land. This name was used in this century.
 

TAMBOMACHAY

The tradition knows this place as the “Bath of the Ñusta” due to the special circumstance exist two aqueducts that have clean water all year, they come from wells that are well-known places single by the constructors, and it seems that they brought forth the bases of the construction Inka; the volume is uniform, the water comes together and it falls into which is well-known as a liturgical source like “Baño of the Inka”, in front of this building there is an immense tower of circular plant to watchtower.
